Here’s yet another Google post! After this I’ll give you a break, I promise. GoogleLabs is a site full of cool gadgets from the bright minds at Google. Basically, any demos/betas from Google and Google engineers’ pet projects end up here. Some end up in Gmail and iGoogle, and some just fade away. I’m going to introduce you to three of their really awesome gadgets Google Goggles, Image Swirl and Chrome Experiments.

Google Goggles is image searching made easy. Basically you take a picture with your Android phone and then it uses that image to find similar images! Take a picture of the Eiffel Tower, BAM! Eiffel Tower. Google Goggles in it’s early stages so don’t expect the world of it. For more info check out Episode 4 of Your Brain on Tech, or googlelabs.com
Image Swirl is another image search application. It’s utilizes Google Images, but instead of getting the rows and rows of pictures, you get more of a image web. Click one part of the web and it shows you more images similar to that, which is awesome when you want to find something specific without changing your search. Try it out. Once again, it is still in its early stages and the searches are a bit limited, but give it a look and keep an eye out for its official release.

Chrome Experiments is really it’s own site. Designed to work in Google Chrome (although I’ve had success in other browsers) Chrome Experiments is a collection of cool experiments. There aren’t any Frankenstein-esque experiments, but if your bored on the web you may be surprised with how entertaining some of these creations are.
